Your individual tax return, handled end-to-end.

Most Canadians leave deductions unclaimed because it’s easy to miss things you file once a year. Count myAccount assigns a specialist to your file who checks your full picture before anything goes to the CRA.

What is personal tax filing in Canada?

Personal tax filing in Canada covers your employment income, deductions, and credits reported to the CRA on a T1 return for the tax year. The deadline for most Canadians is April 30. Count myAccount assigns a specialist to your file, reviews your slips and eligible deductions, e-files with the CRA, and handles CRA follow-up after submission — at a fixed rate confirmed before you start.

For employees, newcomers, and anyone filing a personal return

Whether it’s a single T4 or a more involved return, your specialist brings your income, deductions, and credits together. Here’s who we file for.

T4 · EI · Job Changes

T4 employees

You have one or more employer slips for the year. Possibly EI. Maybe a job change. Your return brings it all together — income, deductions, and every credit you’re entitled to.

T2200 · Form T777

Employees with work-from-home expenses

Your employer issued a T2200. You can claim workspace costs — rent, utilities, internet — calculated by square footage on Form T777. Count myAccount handles the calculation and the filing.

First & Second Returns

Newcomers to Canada

Your first or second Canadian return. Residency status, world income, and benefit eligibility all need to be set up correctly from the start. A dedicated page for newcomers is coming — for now, we handle your file the same way.

RRSP · Medical · Donations

Anyone with RRSP contributions, medical expenses, or donations

These don’t add complexity to your return. They reduce your tax. Your specialist identifies every eligible claim before filing.

What clients say about filing with us

★★★★★

“As a teacher, I'm not very familiar with filing taxes properly. If I had used TurboTax like many of my friends, I would not have been able to save the money that Farhad saved me. He was excellent in his communications, responded to my questions very quickly, and explained my tax filing papers to me.”

“My husband and I have filed our tax returns for the last 10 years with Farhad Farhoosh. The service is super clear and professional. Even at the busy tax season he took time to explain everything with precision and took the stress out of the process.”

“Before working with them, I was simply filing taxes as an employee without really understanding the opportunities available to me. Why file with Count myAccount

DIY software and generic preparers leave the work — and the risk — on you. Count myAccount is built differently.

Four reasons individual filers choose us

A specialist owns your file. DIY software puts the return on you. Count myAccount assigns a specialist who is accountable for the outcome — they check before they submit, not after.

CRA follow-up is part of the deal. Most filing services end when the return goes in. If the CRA writes to you six months later, you're on your own. Here, post-filing correspondence is included.

Price confirmed upfront. Individual tax filing from $27.99. The number is set before we start — not adjusted at checkout.

Every credit and deduction reviewed. Most Canadians leave money on the table — missed credits, unclaimed RRSP room, overlooked medical and donation claims. Your specialist checks every eligible deduction and credit against your situation before filing, not after.

A traditional firm sells you access to a professional. Count myAccount delivers a managed outcome.

Frequently asked questions

Is Count myAccount the same as the CRA My Account portal?
No. Count myAccount (countmyaccount.ca) is a private Canadian tax and accounting firm. The CRA My Account portal is a Government of Canada service. We are not affiliated with the CRA.
What documents do I need?
At minimum: T4 slip(s), SIN, and date of birth. Depending on your situation — RRSP receipts, a T2200 from your employer, medical receipts, donation slips, or investment income slips. The intake checklist covers your specific case.
What is the filing deadline for personal tax returns?
April 30 for most Canadians. If you or your spouse has self-employment income, the filing deadline is June 15 — but any balance owing is still due April 30. Interest starts May 1.
Can I claim work-from-home expenses without a T2200?
No. The temporary flat-rate method from the COVID years has ended. To claim actual workspace expenses on Form T777, your employer must issue a signed T2200.
What if the CRA reviews my return after filing?
Count myAccount handles CRA correspondence after submission. Audit protection is available as an add-on for extended coverage.
How long does filing take?
Most returns are completed within two to three business days of receiving your documents. CRA processing after e-filing is typically ten to fourteen days.
