Terminal T1 Return (Deceased)

When someone passes, their executor must file a final T1 with the CRA. Count myAccount manages the terminal return on the estate's behalf, with a Rights or Things return available where it lowers the tax.

Settling an estate is hard enough without decoding the CRA's requirements for a final return. The terminal T1 reports income up to the date of death and is a legal obligation of the executor. Count myAccount manages the terminal return — simple or complex — reviews it with the executor before filing, and can add a Rights or Things return to report income owed but not yet received, claiming a second set of credits where it reduces the estate's tax.
